We’ve had a fun month along the coast, but it’s getting to be about that time. When deciding where to go next, we really had 2 options: north or south.
If we were to go north, the obvious choice would be Seattle. We looked into staying there, but Seattle is not very RV-friendly. The parks that do exist look run-down, and the nicer ones are far away or were booked.
We could have turned around and gone down the coast, but we’d already seen most of the places we wanted to. So we decided that our next stop is Portland!
Portland is east and slightly south from here. It will be a little warmer (hopefully no too much warmer). But they have entire restaurants and grocery stores there that are vegan. Ryan was drooling over pictures from a vegan barbeque restaurant.
We’ve been staying in small towns for awhile now. It’s been nice, but there aren’t a lot of options. It will be nice to check out a bigger city and have a few more choices.
But we won’t be staying long. As with most of the places in Oregon during the summer, the parks in Portland are full. So after we spend a few days in town, we’ll be heading south. We have some stops along with way, but within the next 4-6 weeks we’ll be back in Family and Friends Central, aka the Bay Area.
Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a video of the drive up the coast.
